Flyingpigmatanza – Los Buenos Momentos lp

At the beginning of 2008, Marcos decided to unite his efforts with other musicians from the area and this is how he came into contact with Hector Bardisa (drums, also in Ainara Legardon's group) and Miguel C. De la Fuente (bass), whom he already knew from his days at Qualude. Together they shaped the songs that appeared on their first EP, self-released by the band, which bears the name of the group (an obscure reference to the eighties Arcade video games). The sound of Flyingpigmatanza is presented in these six accurately defined songs, with the freshness and brilliance characteristic of groups that are beginning their journey. The group's format enhances the work of Marcos Martínez's vocal and instrumental melodies, establishing a truly suggestive and inspired stylistic framework, full of references to eighties groups such as The Cure, Golpes Bajos or Tears For Fears. It was a real shame that the group and their first EP (with great songs like Piedras en el camino) moved under the radar with a really modest distribution and presence in the media (something that will predictably change with their presence in Bcore).

Their first LP, Los Buenos Momentos, recorded live in the living room of an isolated cabin in the Sierra de Aitana (Alicante), -fortunately- does not stray too far from the path started by the group on their eponymous EP: direct pop without frills with an eye on references from the eighties. To his good melodic nose and lack of complexes when it comes to composing the trio, he has added a certain muscle that gives the group more drive, with songs like Inocentes that begin with a vibrant instrumental introduction in crescendo. Of course, there is also room for the pop luminosity to which we were accustomed (Inertia) and for mid-tempos with more chiaroscuro tones that allow the listener to focus their attention on the exciting and careful lyrics of the group (We were fire). Songs with a melancholic aftertaste that awaken the spirit and feed a positive spirit, portraying the human condition from a constructive perspective. Balloons that are filled with good vibrations and that take us on a walk through the clouds for a while; postcards such as those contained in Los Buenos Momentos do not abound.
